Yellowstone

Yellowstone National Park is located in Nothwestern Wyoming, with small areas that extend into Montana and Idaho. Accessable from Highway 89 in the North and South, Highway 20 in the West, and the unbelieveable Highway 212 in the Northeast, also known as the Beartooth Highway. The route is the most scenic as you wind through the amazing Beartooth Pass after a couple great mountain town like Red Lodge. Yellowstone is known around the globe for it's famous geysers and is commonly thought of as a supervolcano, as depicted in the movie 2012 starring John Cusack. The various hot springs, mudpots and thermal pools can have rich color variations on the surface and even the color of the water or mud, depending on mineral content and temperature. At it's deepest points, the Grand Canyon descends over a mile down, exceeds 7,000 ft elevation on the South Rim and over 8,000 ft on the North Rim. While these pictures show the colors, what is also amazing is the heat and aromas coming out of the earth. Yellowstone supports a very diverse set of ecosystems, with many large wildlife that can be easily seen, including grizzly and black bears, bison, elk, moose, badger, mule deer, bighorn sheep and the druid wolf pack. At the Fishing Bridge, you can see pelicans and osprey catching trout out of the Yellowstone River. The Upper and Lower Falls of The Grand Canyon of Yellowstone offer a great hike and spectacular view of nature's handiwork in action. Old Faithfull does not dissapoint as is erupts about every 60-90  minutes for the crowds of onlookers. Boating on Yellowstone lake is a great way to spend an afternoon, seeing the views from the water. There is a lot to see and do in Yellowstone, and of course the most exciting part is when you spot that first grizzly bear,
