Theodore Roosevelt National Park is located in Western North Dakota near the towns of Belfield, Fryburg and Medora, just East of the Montana border. Near Interstate 94 to the South and Route 85 to the East. Theodore Roosevelt or commonly referred to as Teddy Roosevelt National Park is named after the famous president of the United States of America. The strange geologic rock formations of Western North Dakota are called "badlands" but are different than those of South Dakota in Badlands National Park. The Little Missouri flows through Theodore Roosevelt National Park which eventually flows into the Missouri River at Lake Sakakawea. Wildlife can be seen including elk, bison, wild horses, rodents and birds. The unique views of the grasses and almost space-like rock formations offer a landscape that is like no other. If your driving across North Dakota, be sure to stop and see the one and only Theodore Roosevelt National Park.
